Costa Rican Embassies and Consulates Abroad

The Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Culto (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, or Cancillería) is the institution that manages Costa Rica's embassies and consulates abroad, as well as the registry of embassies and consulates of other countries accredited in Costa Rica.

When a Costa Rican embassy or consulate abroad is needed: for example, to renew a passport while outside the country, process or legalize Costa Rican documents abroad, request consular assistance in emergencies (lost documents, legal issues, etc.), or register civil status events (births, marriages) occurring outside Costa Rica.

How to find the corresponding representation: the official website rree.go.cr has a directory searchable by country, where you can check the details for each Costa Rican embassy or consulate (address, phone number, business hours) based on the country where you are located.

Official social media accounts of the Cancillería for general inquiries: Facebook and Instagram "Cancillería Costa Rica", X/Twitter @CRcancilleria.

Note: a complete and updated list of embassies/consulates with their contact details could not be retrieved during this verification (it changes frequently and depends on the specific country) — for exact information regarding a particular country, check the search tool directly at rree.go.cr.
