Optional Automobile Insurance (INS)

In addition to the SOA (Mandatory Automobile Insurance, included in the marchamo — see the marchamo record and technical inspection sheet), the INS offers an insurance voluntary automobile insurance with additional coverages that the SOA does not include.

Available coverages:

• Civil liability (damages to third parties, beyond the minimum of the SOA).
• Collision and/or rollover of the vehicle itself.
• Theft and/or robbery, total or partial.
• Medical expenses for accidents.
• Natural risks.
• Legal assistance.
• 24‑hour roadside assistance: towing, battery replacement, locksmith services, tire change, among others.

Deductible: it is an amount set in the policy's specific terms, depending on what the insured chooses, and it is subtracted from the compensation when a coverage applies.

Coverage dependency: to contract coverages "H" (Additional Risks) Additional) and "Z" (Particular Risks), it is mandatory to also have contracted coverage "D" (Collision and/or Rollover) — these coverages cannot be contracted separately without collision coverage.

Note: this insurance is optional, unlike the SOA which is mandatory for all vehicles. For a business with delivery or work vehicles (for example, a restaurant's delivery service, delivery), it is worth evaluating this insurance additional given the more intensive use of the vehicle.
