Parque Nacional Miravalles-Jorge Manuel Dengo

Parque Nacional Miravalles-Jorge Manuel Dengo is located in Fortuna de Bagaces, Guanacaste, next to the Miravalles geothermal plant (400 meters south and 3 km east of the plant) — one of the newest and least known national parks, offering activities focused on birdwatching, hiking, and learning about renewable energy, as well as protection of threatened species such as the jaguar and the danta (tapir).

**Hours**: Tuesday to Sunday, 8:00am to 3:00pm — **closed on Mondays**, unlike most national parks that open every day.

**Fees** (incl. VAT): ₡1,130 for nationals/residents over 13 years old (children ₡565) — the exact amount for non-residents was not confirmed in this check; confirm directly before planning your visit.

Note: this park is managed by the Área de Conservación Tempisque (ACT) — due to its proximity to the geothermal plant, part of the attraction is seeing up close how energy is generated from the volcano.
