Arenal Volcano National Park (Parque Nacional Volcán Arenal)

Arenal Volcano National Park, near La Fortuna (northern zone), surrounds one of Costa Rica's most famous volcanoes, with forest trails, ancient lava flows and views of the volcano and Lake Arenal.

Hours: daily, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Entry fees:

• Nationals and residents: ₡1,130 adult, ₡565 child.
• Non‑residents: $16.95 adult, $5.65 child.

Reservation: unlike other parks, Arenal Volcano at the moment does NOT have a reservation or online sales system — tickets are purchased directly at the park’s ticket office on the day of the visit.

Note: SINAC’s online ticket sales system has been gradually extending to more parks — check sinac.go.cr to see if this has changed before you travel, as other similar parks (Poás, Rincón de la Vieja) have already shifted to exclusive online sales.
